Who are we?
Diablo Dancers is a gay & lesbian square dance club founded in 1992 in Contra Costa County. We sponsor multi-level classes and dances in the East Bay area.
It’s fun, it’s friendly, it’s safe, it’s family
We are proud to have nearly equal numbers of gay men and lesbian women. Everyone is welcome--gay, straight, or anywhere in between. We offer a smoke, drug and alcohol free environment.
You don’t need a partner.
Singles, couples and groups of friends are all welcome. Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
No “special attire” is required.
We don’t just dance...
We are a social club with regularly scheduled pinics, parties, game nights, potlucks, camping, as well as informal gatherings.
Lots of opportunity for dancing.
In addition to our weekly club nights, we visit other local clubs. There are 8 gay and lesbian square dance clubs in the Bay Area, Sacramento and Santa Cruz.
And if that’s not enough...
As a member of the International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs, a gay and lesbian organization, we often attend fly-ins in other states as well as our annual National Convention usually held in July.
Square dancing is a great way to get you exercise, meet new friends and have fun!
If you can't afford it...
We recognize that these are difficult times for many. If the cost of the class is a hardship for you, please come anyway. We do not turn anyone away for an inability to pay. Arrangements can and will be made to allow you to participate.
